BACK AND LEG PAIN

I have had lower back, mid back, neck, left knee, right wrist and leg pain off and

on for years. Most of the time it is bearable. However, when my sacroiliac or

sciatica flare up, it is unbearable! I have been to doctors, physical therapists,

chiropractors, and one other acupuncturist. Doctors prescribe the pain and

muscle relaxing drugs. Physical therapists make you stretch and give you

exercises to do. Chiropractors adjust you, hang you upside down, and pack you

in ice. The other acupuncturist I went to stuck needles all over my body except

where I was hurting. All with the same result, temporary relieve.

About six weeks ago, my sacroiliac and sciatica flared up. I was in a lot of pain.

I could only walk, sit, or stand for a short period of time. The rest of the time,

I was in my recliner or lying down. I started taking pain and muscle relaxing

prescriptions immediately. I was taking six pills for pain and two to relax my

muscles per day. Again, this just made the pain bearable. I called my chiropractor

and he told me to come in for therapy but he did not want to adjust me until I

was feeling better. There was no improvement after two weeks of therapy and

prescriptions.

I attended a LBCC football game on September 11^th and had a tough time making

it up the ramp to the football bleachers. Sat and stood uncomfortably for the

entire game I was there to watch Jeff Ginter’s son, Jared, play. Jeff saw how

much pain I was in and told about Dr. Kim. I had been to an acupuncturist before

without any long-term results. Therefore, I continued my regular routine of pills

and therapy. I finally broke down and called Jeff for Dr. Kim’s phone number. Boy

I am I glad I did. After eight visits, I was a new man.

No more pills and pain free!

Dr. Kim took his time to evaluate and treat all my painful areas : back, hip, and

leg. His Tui-na Therapy, acupuncture, and wet heat works. In addition, his static

stretching of the body works much better than the ballistic stretching you get

from a chiropractor. I continue see Dr. Kim for the other problems I have had for

years (see above). My wife blames my ailments on my all the years of weight

lifting and playing football. What ever the reason, Dr. Kim says, if I continue

treatments with him, I will live to be 100 years old and pain free. If my first eight

visits are any indication of what lies ahead, he just might be right!

Both Dr. young Kim and his wife, Dr. Emily Park, are wonderful people. They are

helpful, understanding, and patient.
