Found this place from my insurance, Anthem, who covered most of the expenses and was certainly pleased!

I started seeing Dr. Kim due to my lower back pain and sciatica from pregnancy. My pain would get so bad that I was limping, waking up from sleep, and barely being able to sit. I couldn't take any pain medications due to being pregnant, so I was left with alternative therapies. I am a usual Yoga practitioner, but I couldn't even do simple poses like that due to the pain.

The only reason I have them 4 stars instead of 5 was because although the clinic was clean (needles were always sterile and in packaging, clean table, clean robes), the environment was kid of sterile and not warm and comforting (if you like that kind of stuff).  Comforting music was always played in the background, but think lime green walls and fluorescent ceiling lights. If you are expecting a "spa" type environment, it is not.

Dr. Kim was very professional and had a clean and organized office. The therapy sessions started 3 times a week, for one hour each.  Half an hour was dedicated to deep focused heat massage, then acupuncture and heat lamp for about 15-20 minutes. Then heat therapy again for another 15 minutes. I truly think the massage helped the most and recommend only acupunture with massage to help with muscular back pain.

I continued to do the sessions and noticed a huge change. I will be honest, you have to bite your lip when first undergoing the massage because it is deep and painful when you are aching and tight. It hurt, but I know it was the best and you have to endure it to loosen up the muscles and tightness.  Towards the end of my therapy course, I was actually falling asleep in the middle of the sessions because it was so therapeudic!

The theory behind Chinese medicine is pretty neat and makes sense- he explained that heat and massage help with breaking up scar tissue and stiff muscles- definitely to NOT do ice (which I was doing) and encourage blood flow and circulation. The needles help align the meridens and achieve proper flow to connecting the body to harmony! Whatever the belief is, it truly works!

As I improved, my sessions were less frequent- and to the point of going just once a month. I finally graduated pain free and now my pregnancy has been so much more wonderful without back pain.  Very professional, very worth the money. Great alternative for those who suffer with back pain and want a natural way to help!
